More than 50% of India's population is in the reproductive age group. JSK’s strategies focus on adolescents and young

people and seek to reward those that break away from stereotypes and adopt responsible parenthood practices.

Your contribution will enable JSK to implement 6 innovative strategies and widen their outreach.

  • The risk of a women dying from a complication related to pregnancy or childbirth.

Developed Countries - 1 in 2800.

India - 1 in 100.

  • Although fertility is declining in the 15 to 19 age group, in many states, nearly 20% of the rural girls within this age group are already mothers or pregnant with their first child.
  • A child's nutritional status begins with a woman's nutritional status during adolescence and pregnancy. Societal pressure for early childbearing affects both the mother and the child and can lead to the birth of underweight children with poor chances of survival and growth.
  • JSK's strategies address the need to change mindsets. JSK also offers specific services for reproductive and child health.
